Matamba Anonaka Technology Holdings announces strategic partnership with InfoBip Limited

Matamba Anonaka Technology Holdings (MATHs) is pleased to announce the signing of a strategic partnership agreement with InfoBip Limited. The agreement will see the formation of a wholly owned subsidiary of MATHs which will act as the sales, support and marketing organisation for InfoBip products and services in Zimbabwe.

InfoBip is a global company that specialises in mobile messaging solutions having developed a fully resilient, modular and geographically-diverse platform with 24/7 monitoring and support, delivering high performance messaging to more than 800 mobile networks in over 160 countries worldwide.

Geoff Goss, CEO of Matamba Anonaka said, “This agreement reflects the successful model created by MATHs of bringing together the best available local management, international technical skills, products and services, and appropriate financial structuring, to deliver best of breed solutions into the IT and Telecoms sector in Zimbabwe.”

Application to Person messaging, known as A2P in industry jargon, is in its infancy in Zimbabwe, but the degree of sophistication in the telecoms, consumer and financial services sectors makes the introduction of these kinds of services simply a matter of time.

Said John Bannister, Vice President of Global Business Development at InfoBip, “After a week of meetings with senior executives from the Mobile Network Operators and most of the financial institutions in Zimbabwe, I have been enormously encouraged by the reception we have received and the degree of enthusiasm there is for the introduction of products such as ours.”

“Mobile banking is a classic A2P application, yet there are limited solutions available that are as robust and MNO agnostic as the InfoBip platform,” commented Goss.

“In a recovering economy, Zimbabwe corporates are looking for new and innovative ways to retain and grow their customer bases and mobile technology is a natural place to look. In MATHs we have also found the right partner to reach the corporates in Zimbabwe and work with them in developing their offerings in this new A2P space,” added Bannister.

The establishment of this entity is the third investment by MATHs to be brought to market, following hot on the heels of the introduction of mobile content services with Starfish Mobile and the company’s investment in ZSE listed printing and mobile services company, Celsys Limited.

Matamba Anonaka Technology Holdings (MATHs) is the first and only technology focused Venture Capital Company in Zimbabwe, and was established in 2010 with the objective of developing Greenfield projects with proven existing technologies in identified market gaps and for making equity investments to recapitalise once flourishing businesses.

MATHs is a transparent investment channel that can identify opportunities and professionally manage invested equity that will generate immediate cash flows from existing operations and invest in new projects in high growth areas.
